I'm willing to bet that after all the heavily styled bridal magazines you've been reading and the picture-perfect wedding inspo photos you've been Pinning (don't lie, you know you've spent the last several months revisiting all your "someday" pinterest boards!), you could probably use a big injection of self confidence right about now!
REAL TALK:
If you're anything like me, you waited and waited for your man to pop the question, thinking, "maybe it'll be tonight!"
But with every birthday, anniversary dinner, Christmas, New Years, Valentines Day, or even frickin' Flag Day that passed that he didn't ask, you secretly got a little bummed and lost just a teeny tiny bit of that mojo you once had. . . .
Then, when you finally got engaged, all those warm fuzzy feelings came rushing back to you! You were on top of the world!!
. . . until you started trying on wedding dresses and realized they all run about two sizes small. . . . and started buying bridal magazines whose pages were filled with blonde-haired, blue-eyed, big-boobed, small-waisted, wrinkle-free, itty bitty, 19-year-old models instead of actual brides. Ugh. . .
So you start dieting. . . . again. . . .
Full disclosure, I did NOT hit my goal weight before my wedding day (because, life) and I had one of those "no no, I'm not crying, it's just my allergies" secret dressing room meltdowns when I realized I was going to have to sport some SERIOUS Spanx under my wedding dress instead of that sexy lingerie I was hoping to squeeze into.
Getting married was not supposed to be this stressful. One minute you're on top of the world, and the next you're underneath it.
Girl, it's okay.
Take a deep breath. I know what an emotional roller coaster this time in your life can be.
That's why I do this. To give EVERY woman back her mojo before her wedding day. To show you how freaking amazing you are, how gorgeous and powerful and sexy, no matter what size or shape.
Just imagine what your groom is going to think when he opens up that album that's "For His Eyes Only" right before he puts on his tux. . .
He probably thought he was getting a watch or some cufflinks - HA!
Now imagine seeing him for the first time that day as you walk down the aisle.
You lock eyes. His heart stops. You strut down that aisle with a huge smile on your face, commanding the whole room, but never taking your eyes off him.
Because now you know what he has always known: You. Are. A. Goddess!
FAQ
Where will my session take place?
Typically in a lovely, spacious hotel or Airbnb. I have several favorite locations that I love because they are decorated very nicely and they are clean and tidy, without any distracting clutter, so that you are the star of your images! If you have a beautiful home you would like to shoot in, I would be happy to discuss that possibility as well.
Who will be there?
Just you and me, and ocassionally a female assistant if necessary.
You will also have a professional hair & makeup artist styling you before your session. Your comfort and privacy are my top priorities, which is why I bring an all-female team to Boudoir shoots, and only those who are absolutely necessary will remain in the room for your shoot (usually just me).
Can I bring a friend for moral support?
Absolutely! However, please keep in mind that "spectators" are not permitted in the shooting room during photo sessions, as it tends to make the person being photographed feel awkard and look stiff and uncomfortable. You are welcome to bring a friend and have them wait in the lobby or waiting area while you are being photographed.
Who will see my images?
While many photographers outsource their retouching to local independent contractors or big retouching companies, my all-female team does ALL of our boudoir retouching in-house. That means that no one ever sees your images but me and my female retoucher.
I also only use professional print labs who respect your privacy and are not local, just in case.
Protecting my clients' privacy is a big deal to me and I go to great lengths to make sure that you don't even have to think about it!
Will my photos be shown on your website?
Not unless you give me the thumbs up. Once you see your photos, you will get to decide which ones may be shown online, in printed sample ablums, etc. Most of my clients are excited to have their images featured because they just look so darn gorgeous in them! And even my most conservative clients usually allow their photos to be used online if their faces are not shown, but if you are uncomfortable with that, that's perfectly alright, too! Again, your privacy is my top priority, so you get to choose what works for you!
When can I see my images?
You get to see them the same day as your photo shoot! After we finish shooting, I'll send you to grab a bite to eat (or a dip in the pool, or a relaxing massage at the hotel spa) for about 90 minutes while I download your images. When you get back, we'll go through them together and pick out the photos for your album or collection!
Can I do a Boudoir shoot WITH my significant other?
Yes, you can! I do offer couples Boudoir!
There are some ground rules, but if you are both on board, let's talk about your vision!
How much can I expect to spend?
The Session Fee Retainer is $500 and includes professional hair and makeup styling, your phone consultation with me, access to our client wardrobe and so much more! Images are sold separately and our albums start at $1500.
We do offer Payment Plans to help you break the cost down into smaller payments over time.
What is a Boudoir Bachelorette Party & how do I book one?!?!
Oh, no biggie, it's only the BEST THING EVER!!!!
Boudoir Bachelorette Parties are for you and yor girlfriends to have a super fun and glamorous night out together before your wedding, and get some AMAZING boudoir photographs at the same time!
We do this at least 6-8 weeks before the wedding so there is plenty of time for your albums, viewmasters, and goodies to arrive before the big day!
We throw Boudoir Parties in hotel suites or spacious Airbnbs, where there is a separate "party room" and a shooting room. Everyone takes a turn having their own private Boudoir mini-shoot, which lasts 15-20 minutes (the bride goes first and gets to take EXTRA time!), while the rest of the girls eat, drink, play games, and socialize in the party room next door.
Once everyone has had their turn, I'll download the photos while you grab dinner or a drink with your girls, and you'll all come back to see and pick out your images that very same day!
We can do this all together or privately if anyone is uncomfortable showing the group her photos (most parties love to see each other's photos - it's very uplifting!).
